Beats by Dre
Culver City, CA. Beats, formerly focused on electronics, was established in 2006 and has grown rapidly to include music streaming services and lifestyle fashion. The company’s pioneering mission is to provide a superior end-to-end music experience with headphones, devices and services.
The company needed a large scale campus to accommodate their innovative research, design, and development. They needed a campus where all of these parts are connected and integrated and could house their several hundred employees.
In the main building a central axis and paths meandering through core zones encourage interaction among the various departments. The hub area reflects the global nature of the business by creating an open contemporary luxurious lounge, allowing frequently travelling employees a spot to work in comfort.
Employees can “drop in” to work with their team. Zones of individual workstations (some with standing tables) are punctuated with break out spaces and elegant and playful architectural elements, allowing for maximum flexibility and the continual growth of teams.
